Discipline 04 · IT & ELV Infrastructure
The network is now the backbone every other building system depends on. We design resilient, scalable IT and extra-low-voltage infrastructure for hotels, offices, residences and resorts.
Overview
IHD designs enterprise IT infrastructure that powers modern building operations: resilient, scalable networks and data center facilities that support mission-critical applications.
Audiovisual, security, IoT and guest room systems increasingly run over the same IP network and the same structured cabling plant. Designing IT and ELV infrastructure as one coordinated layer — from telecom rooms and cable pathways to switching and wireless — is what allows those systems to perform and to be managed reliably.
We begin with your business processes and technology roadmap, then design infrastructure that aligns with operational goals and growth — balancing performance requirements with budget realities.
Technical Capabilities
Applications
Guest and back-of-house networks that carry every hotel system.
Enterprise networks for mission-critical business operations.
Shared infrastructure for residents, amenities and building systems.
Compute, storage and network rooms designed for resilience.
Engineering Methodology
01
Business processes and the technology roadmap come first.
02
Infrastructure aligned with operations and growth, balanced against budget.
03
Defense-in-depth and failover mechanisms built into every layer.
04
Documentation and knowledge transfer with clear upgrade paths.
Questions
Extra-low-voltage (ELV) systems are the low-power technology services in a building: data networks and structured cabling, telephony, Wi-Fi, CCTV, access control, audiovisual and building automation. Planning them together avoids duplicated cabling, overcrowded risers and incompatible systems.
Cabling routes, telecom rooms and risers occupy physical space and must be coordinated with the architecture and MEP services. Designing the cabling plant early ensures there is room, power and cooling for the network that every other system will depend on.
Yes. Hotels and resorts make up a large part of our portfolio, with guest and back-of-house networks carrying Wi-Fi, AV, security, IoT and guest room systems.
We provide documentation and knowledge transfer so your IT team can manage the infrastructure long after implementation, with clear upgrade paths as technology needs evolve.
